Pulse Magazine
This goal of this project is to create a magazine that includes a cover, a table of contents, a feature article, and an interview article that focuses on a specific topic.

Pulse
is a social justice magazine that brings awareness to the lack of equal access in healthcare.

Wordmark Process

The goal of the wordmark was to convey a sense of urgency and immediacy. After exploring different typefaces and sketching, the typeface for the wordmark was narrowed down to a sans serif.

Visual System

A visual system was developed to keep the main aspects of the magazine consistent from volume to volume.

Iterations
Front Cover

The front cover was created using a collage of graphics from the magazine. The graphics were physically printed, cut, rearranged, and scanned back into Photoshop for editing. After applying the grid system to the collage, the wordmark and the typography were added.

Table of Contents

The initial iterations of the TOC were done in quick 15-minute sprints. Taking highlights from each of the sprints, these elements were then combined to create a unifying spread.

Feature Article

Experimented with the concept of a divide by creating gaps between shapes and the concept of bridging by intertwining sections of texts with the images.
