Original LP
The original album used persimmons on the album cover, typically tart when unripe and sweet when ripe, as a metaphor for the transition from grief to happiness.
The photography for the LP cover redesign uses green and red apples to symbolize how not everything is sweet in the process of growing from a period of sadness. Therefore, the sour green apples symbolize grief, the sweet red apples symbolize happiness, and the bandaid represents the process of healing from the past and progression to the happiness of the future.
